Downsview Park’s Trail of Lights colours holiday sky

With a flick of the switch – and a little help from more than 400,000 LED holiday lights carefully arranged over two weeks of construction – Downsview Park’s Trail of Lights is now colouring the sky over Toronto, making this an outdoor must-see mega-display for visitors to the city over the holiday season.

Downsview Park’s Trail of Lights, Canada’s largest walk-through light show, is open to the public until December 31, offering 34 consecutive nights of holiday celebrations. The two kilometre-long walking trail features energy-efficient LED lights arranged into 16 themed areas, including 13 walk-through themed arches and 400 illuminated displays.

And upon arrival to the Trail of Lights, visitors from near and far will witness the incredible sight of Canada’s largest walk-through illuminated Holiday Tree.

“A stroll through Downsview Park’s Trail of Lights is an enjoyable and active way to take in the holiday spirit,” says Tony Genco, President and Chief Executive Officer, Parc Downsview Park Inc. “The Trail winds past towering displays, under arches, into themed areas, and through the Trees of Imagination and Downsview Park’s Canada Forest, where more than 50,000 trees have been planted. We invite everyone to come out for fresh air, festive activities and amazing sights!”

Indoor activities part of the festive funAfter strolling through the illuminated displays outdoors, visitors can warm up while enjoying a wide range of indoor activities, from holiday carolers and other live entertainment to free photos with Santa. Holiday shoppers can also browse the Holiday Village, where a collection of vendors offer everything from holiday treats to stocking stuffers.
