The Ontario Science Centre

The Ontario Science Centre is located at 770 Don Mills Road at Eglinton Avenue East.

The Ontario Science Centre was a regular school trip for me as a kid until about grade 7. We went to the Science Centre once per year and I still have some good memories of our school trips.

Back then the most exciting part in my opinion was the “electric ball” for lack of a better term. When you touched it with your hands, your hair would stand on end.

The mission of the Centre in their own words is "To delight, inform and challenge visitors through engaging and thought-provoking experiences in science and technology."

With tens of millions of dollars being spent on modernizations, there are plenty of new things to do as well. Now you can also view IMAX films, check out interactive exhibits and art, and much more.

For a complete schedule of what’s going on currently, check out the What’s On page of their official website.

By car: If you’re driving, take the Don Valley Parkway until Don Mills road north and then you can follow the signs the rest of the way. Parking costs $8 per vehicle.

By public transit: If you’re downtown, you can take the Yonge Street subway line north to Eglinton station and then take the Eglinton East Route 34 bus and get off at Don Mills Road. Don’t forget to grab a transfer when you enter the subway so that you can get on the bus without having to pay the fare again. You can also take Bloor-Danforth subway line east to Pape station and get on the Don Mills Route 25 bus. Take this bus to St Dennis Drive which is right in front of the Ontario Science Centre.

Check out the official Ontario Science Centre website for more information regarding hours of operation, admission costs and directions.
