Taste of The Danforth

The Taste of the Danforth is a yearly event held every summer for three days in August in Toronto.

Taste of The Danforth Sign Danforth Avenue is where Toronto’s Greektown is located. If you’re looking for great Greek food and culture, head to “The Danforth” as the area and street are known locally.

If you’re proceeding east on Bloor Street, it eventually turns into Danforth Avenue after you’ve passed Bayview Avenue and after you’ve passed over the bridge that sits overtop the Don Valley Parkway.

In 2008 the Taste of The Danforth occurs from August 8-10 and on this page you’ll see a few pictures of what occurred.

The first Taste of the Danforth was held in 1994 and it has grown exponentially since then. In the first year, about 5,000 people attended. Now, over 1 million people attend the three day event! People come from throughout the provinces of Ontario and Quebec and even from the US, too.

With great Greek (and other) food, live bands, shopping, children’s events and much more, there is plenty to do.

It’s another great summer event that occurs in the City of Toronto and it’s a great excuse to visit one of the most well-known areas in the city.
