Toronto Harbourfront Attractions
Toronto Harbourfront is a popular tourist destination in Toronto that sits right at the bottom end of the downtown area along Lake Ontario just south of the highways leading in and out of Toronto. Harbourfront is located on Queen’s Quay which is the street running east and west along the lakeshore.
If you walk east or west along the waterfront proceeding west on Queen’s Quay, you can check out a number of different aspects of Harbourfront and there are plenty of things to do especially during the summer months.
At the foot of Bay Street you’ll find Queen’s Quay Terminal which is a shopping centre with restaurants, retail stores and gift shops that backs onto Lake Ontario. Behind Queen’s Quay Terminal is a new boardwalk that was built in 2005 that enables you to walk along the lake shore. Along the boardwalk you’ll find a number of harbour boat cruises that tour around the lake and show you various aspects of the city. During the summer months, various afternoon and evening tours are especially popular that often coincide with statutory holidays and other events.
When you walk along the boardwalk beginning behind Queen's Quay Terminal, you can walk west along the waterfront. You can continue along the waterfront by walking on the sidewalk west on Queen's Quay which will take you past restaurants, retail stores, a boat harbour and much more.
